Pet Stains? Call us now at 573-7333!

We love our pets as much as you do and, like our pets, yours have probably had a few accidents here and there. There are two concerns that need to be dealt with:
1. Since pet urine contains chemicals that cause odors, in a very short amount of time the urine will probably start to develop a pungent smell. Ordinary household carpet cleaning solutions aren't very effective on most pet spots because they are designed to remove other types of soil, not organic contamination like urine. Our solutions are specifically designed to be effective on urine and other organic stains.
Some steps can be taken to immediately deal with your pets accident before you call us:
1. Blot up as much as possible if still wet.
2. Apply detergent solution, blot. (see our cleaning tips page for more information)
3. Apply ammonia solution, blot. (see our cleaning tips page for more information)
4. Apply vinegar solution, blot. (see our cleaning tips page for more information)
5. Rinse thoroughly with water, blot until dry.
6. If stain remains, apply rust remover or oxalic acid solution.
7. Bleaching with 3-5% hydrogen peroxide or sodium perborate might be necessary. Urine stains may cause permanent dye removal from fibers.
CAUTION: Before trying any of these spotting solutions be sure of the effect it will have on your carpet. Try testing it on an inconspicuous portion of your carpet or better yet on an extra piece. These are suggestions only and are provided for informational purposes, results may vary. Randy's Carpet Care & Upholstery is not liable for misapplication or damage due to improper application or use. Most of these chemicals can be POISONOUS or HARMFUL, do not use if you are underage or if you are unsure of your reaction to any of the listed chemicals. Seek immediate medical treatment if you have any adverse reactions. If you are not sure of the results we urge you to call us, or your local carpet cleaner for further information and treatment of your carpet.
2. Urine quickly soaks into the backing of the carpet and pad. Think of your pad as a giant sponge. Decontaminating a sponge is virtually impossible; while the above suggestion will lessen the damage to your carpet, Randy's Carpet Care & Upholstery has the expertise and employ the use of special tools that allow us to remove the majority of urine from the carpet and pad without having to rip out your carpet. So next time your pet has a little accident, give Randy's Carpet Care & Upholstery a call at 573-7333 to schedule an appointment.
